This event started with a good sized field for a non Holdem event with 534 players taking part. By the end of the second day the field had been narrowed down to just the final table of 9 players and the line up was as follows:

  • Seat 1- Martin Corpuz, Jr. 292,000
  • Seat 2- Ming Lee 373,000
  • Seat 3- Mitch Maples 70,000

  • Seat 8- Marvin Ryan 104,000
  • Seat 9- Stuart Patterson 58,000

The first player to be eliminated from the final table was Mitch Maples. He hit a set of Jacks on the flop but Thang Luu went on to hit a straight on the river which sent Maples out in 9th place collecting $14,578 for his efforts.

Shortstack Stuart Patterson was the next to leave the final table when he got his chips in way in front of chip leader Marcel Luske. Unfortunately Luske hit runner runner cards on the turn and river to make a straight and eliminate Patterson in 8th place good for $20,409.

Ming Lee missed a big draw for both the high and low ends of the pot when he failed to hit any of his outs, and Lee was the next to be eliminated in 7th place collecting $27,699.

Jess Robinson who had become short stacked at this point made his move went he moved all in with :as :2d :4s :qc and was called by Martin Corpuz holding :ad :5d :9h :kc . When the board came down :jc :5c :3c :qs :5s giving Corpuz trip fives then Robinson was eliminated in 6th place and took home a prize of $36,391.

Frankie O’Dell was the vocal guy at the table and even outshone the eccentric actions of Marcel Luske. O’Dell was involved in the next elimination when together with Marti Corpuz they split a multi-way pot when both had identical two pairs which left Marvin Ryan eliminated in 5th place collecting a prize of $47,136.

Marcel Luske’s bracelet dreams were next to end when he repeatedly failed to take down the big pots, and his final hand was no different when he was ahead until the river when Thang Luu rivered a higher two pair to send Luske out in 4th place good for $64,630.

O’Dell then went on a rampage and crippled both remaining players. First was Corpuz when O’Dell hit a six high straight to win a big pot from him with both the high and low pots and then he hit a set of sixes to do the same with Thang Luu.

With both opponents shortstacked O’Dell was looking good for the bracelet and he finished Corpuz soon after in 3rd place and sent him home with a rpzie of $97,188.
Soon after he completed the victory by making two pair and eliminating Thang Luu in 2nd place and claiming the bracelet and 1st place prize of $240,057.
