Action from Sunday 3rd September
Another weekend passes and as usual the action is complete from the weekend’s big internet tournaments. Let’s take a look at what happened at each of these tournaments.
Pokerstars Sunday Million
The weekly showcase Sunday Million tournament with a buy-in of $200+$15 attracted 5,699 entries this week which meant a total prize pool of $1,139,800. A total of 825 places made the money.
When the final table began the big stack of ‘Doc Deal 103′ led the way with 2.7m chips followed by another 4 stacks of over 1.8m. There were four short stacks of less than 850k.
The first big confrontation at the final table saw ’simmsux’ holding pocket Kings take on the A-J suited of ‘Axabaxa’. The Kings held up giving ’simmsux’ a million-chip lead.
‘jennicide’ knocked out two players at once when her full house beat two opponents and knocked them out. ’simmsux’ continued to move out in front eliminating ‘FileError404′ in a race worth over 4 million chips. He won several nice hands to extend his chips to over 8 million which was more than 60% of all the chips in play.
Eventual heads up play was between ’simmsux’ and ‘jalla79′ with ’simmsux’ holding more than a 3:1 chip lead over his opponent. At this stage the two started to discuss a deal with the help of support staff and eventually agreed upon a deal, and left a final $20k to play for in the heads up. This went to ’simmux’ after a 30 minutes heads up battle.
