China APPT to feature Jerry Yang

The first season of the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) being run by PokerStars is in full swing and it’s third event takes place in a few days time on the 23rd November.
The APPT have today announced that this years WSOP main event winner Jerry Yang will be taking part in the event in Macau, China which will add a lot of excitement to the event especially to poker fans in China.
Winning the Main Event of the World Series of Poker means fame and riches and turns players into stars overnight. Players like Chris Moneymaker, Jamie Gold, Joe Hachem, and Greg Raymer have all tasted success in the World Series of Poker Main Event. Jerry Yang is not like them even though he is the current champion of the WSOP Main Event.
Any champion after winning the main event gets busy with activities like sponsorship deals, attending invitational events, and giving interviews but this quiet unknown amateur player hasn’t done anything like this and has been really quiet since he became the champion back in August.
However, all this will change, as poker lovers in Macau, China will be able to watch Jerry Yang play in his first major event since the WSOP.
The APPT by PokerStars has taken the Asian poker world by storm and players from all around the world have qualified via satellites on the world’s biggest online poker site, PokerStars to join the stars of the poker world in some of the most beautiful and interesting places that Asia has to offer.
In their effort to promote the tour and popularize the game more in Asia Pokerstars has pulled out all the stops to secure this big name Asian poker player for this event. The APPT event in China is first of its kind to be held in the country and there are more than 200 qualifiers from the online satellites who will join Jerry Yang in the tournament.
