The super low limits are tricky. I dont have a lot of experience playing down there. I starting playing poker 4 yrs ago, playing .50/1.00 or 1.00/2.00 home games. But I would have to agree here with the professor. Wait until you have either the nuts or damn close to it, in order to get your money in the pot. Considering the inexperience of the players and the amount of money at risk ($2 maybe $5 etc.) you have to understand that you're going to get called with any number of hands and you're going to get drawn out on. It's the nature of the game. Risking $2 to someone who doesn't have the mindset of a serious player is not a big deal.

Man oh man, Green couldnt have said it any better. I have been doin this course for almost 1 month at first I didnt understand the reasoning behind the cards that are in the starting hand guide as i was a new player. I mixed it up and i played my J7s lol. what a mistake i see. now its almost been 30 days, I dont do it unless im under the bb now and mostly im not tryin to shove my money in that pot unless that j7 is the nuts.
I never noticed (at first) how at the .01/.02 level they call everthing i kept playin until i lost about 200 bucks in the process. I thought it was the guide prohibiting me from being loose. OH contrair. its the other players callin u down with anything gettin truly lucky on the turn and the river. So i put it to the test most of my sessions now are 300-400 hands (to me thats long term so to speak) I cannot do the time limit thing for me it must be hands. I figure the more hands i see the less lady luck plays a part. That way i can see how it works over time/ hands. Big imrovement, however ur still gonna have callers at this level u gotta learn to live with them, and remember the hand REALLY starts with selection. So if its real tight at the table limit ur hands to the top hands in the starting hand guide. When it goes ur way ur estatic when it doesnt be gracious say NC and move on. I moved up to the .10/.25 cent level that has lasted for about 9 days. now 9 days later im noticing they play a little better but still more callers that i would like and less that the lower level. Ive learned how to sit now my game has improved but do u think i should move up again. I think im ready to tackle the .25/.50 tables i know it will be the same for the most part playin my (NEW) style however if there are less callers @ the .10/.25 level the ratio must be proportionaly less at the .25/.50 level. I guess when im playin at that level when I start to notice the chasers i can punish them severely and make those guys pay for their mistakes. They will slow down. Im a firm believer. Help me out too, Professor pls lol. OH i forgot when i moved up from the .01/.02 level to the .10/.25 my bankroll did too i now have 75.34. Thx to the professor i can see a winning future.
