I am a newbie to holdem and must say your strategy guide has been a real godsend. Whilst being quite basic,it gives a good grounding to a fledgling poker player. By using your guide I am now a marginally winning player although I still have a lot to learn.
My one comment would be that the bankroll challenges (say make $2 on the 05/10 tables) are perhaps implying that we will immediately do so. My first few times playing following your strategy I lost, not because your strategy is wrong but because my inexperience allowed me to make massive cock-ups eg. one one hand I was so excited about making full house on the river I completely missed the fact there were 4 clubs in the community cards and so lost to the straight flush. I won`t do that again, but probably these mistakes need to be made and learnt from. I can also see that patience is a virtue, the other night I played 150 hands and only got 4 playable hands , and these were only group G and H hands I then lost my stack playing a hand I should `ve folded, totally down to my own frustration and getting rag hands, but again a valuable lesson has been learnt.I`m hoping in time my game will slowly improve with experience, but I am sure the Profs winning strategy is a good way to start. This is a great website, keep it up. ive been playing with this guide for a while now and let me tell you... your mistake was ok... you lost to a impressive strong hand...
Let me povide you with some guidance... keep count of your hands... i made a little excel with all kinds of hands lets say A B C D E F G H Z (Z is all other hands that aren't on the guide) and i complete when i get one of this hands and play it or not in diferent cells and then if i win or not... this will help you a lot with controling yourself. I have problems with getting good hands sometimes too but this will be a good thing on higher stake levels were u'll be considered a very tight player and they will consider betting against you when you raise, and so u could bluff some more.
