Hi, my name is Alex.
I've been playing poker for almost 3 years now (mostly online.)
I consider myself to be a very solid poker player. I am about to give this course a go anyways as, in my opinion, you can never know too much about poker, and trying this out will probably help me in a couple ways.
One way it could help is that while going through the course, I can notice and hopefully patch up some flaws in my game that I've either always had, or developed as a bad habit.
Another way I'm sure this could help me is that the last few times I've added money to poker accounts, I was doomed to fail because I make very poor decisions concerning my bankroll. (I tend to jump up limits with huge chunks...up to 75% or more of my bankroll. The line of thinking is that I'll play very conservatively...what ends up happening is that I take some bad beat or make some stupid move of some sort for huge chunks of my stack...and thus huge chunks of my bankroll)
Anyways, I'm going to be getting 50 free dollars from
Full Tilt poker, and after I finish up the bonus and unlock the money, I'll be moving it over to
Bodog to take the "challenge" presented in this site. (that's another way it could help...turning "free" money anyways into 1000 bucks is never a bad thing.
Anyways, I plan to keep you all updated on my progress of course, and also chime in with any tips or advice I might have concerning some of the questions posed in any of the other parts of the forum.
To The Professor: I will let you know what I think of your guide as I go through. And if I see anything that you might be able to edit for the better I will surely let you know. This is a great idea.
Ok I'm rambling now...thanks for the guide Prof
