Default I killed on the frat boys

Oh I never get tired of telling this story. Two months ago a friend was driving to Vegas and needed a sidekick so i said fine pay hotel & gas and I'm in to drive the first leg. I see a lot of people cash their paychecks then complain about money problems oh well.
I'm not a big drinker or a gambler and I often get sidekick duty because I can be counted on to get the victim home by Monday work. Anyhoo I was dressed up from a work do so i went in the casino instead of napping (I'd had coffee at every gas stop on the way) and my friend walked on to play Craps.

I was just tired enough to sit down at a poker table. I had some chips because my friend checked in and belonged to some club where you get a bunch to start. I saw what the limit was and decided to play the chips out and then go up to bed.
This was not the priciest place on the strip but still pretty nice. Seemed pretty busy even for Friday night, and some group of college guys were swarming around everywhere busting up the vibe and annoying people.

So a bunch of them sat down to my table and played at being big poker players. They tricked their chips and got serious, all the while looking my way to see if I was impressed. The dealer was totally inscrutable.
Two hands later they were hurting.

Did I mention my dad and three brothers were platinum level poker players who had allowed me to sit at the table and see them at work? These guys were hurting. All their noise died down as they realised all their woo-hooing didn't mean squat at the table.

I stopped in the middle of one hand to bank more money, I was totally bluffing and they all folded! One guy was watching behind the dealer and starting smiling despite himself. I think he worked for the hotel.

I raked the last hand and won easily about $2,000, The college kids were so pis**ed off. I was just not concerned and had some trash, not even decent flops qualified stuff. But I was too laid back to show any concern.

Oh how I wish i could do this again. I was so tempted to try but the vibe was with me that night. I bought a designer handbag in the mall and cmpletely depressed my friend who lost basically everything.

Go vegas!

Haha! That was awesome. I am sure they didn't expect that for you. I have found that it is not always the guys who talk the most trash that can really play.

This reminds me of when I was in Atlantic City once and these sorority girls were playing this teamster looking dude. They were laughing and betting and they walked all over the place on him and you should have seen his face.
The dealer was trying so hard not to crack up.

What a great story. Glad you had such a wonderful experience. I have seen so many times when the college bunch hit a table and yep you are right they woooohoooo and woot woot all over the place. They make like they have played the best and best them.

But in most cases these kids just don't have the experience to realize when they are being taken.

I have had much the same thing happen in Vegas as well and it's sooooo funny when they get really quiet and then start calling you the terminator. hahahahaha

Congrats on the nice stash you were able to take home with you.
