Default Slowing Down

Hey all,

I've noticed that I've really become a more agressive player, still playing tight.
So I guess I've reached the goal of being a Tight-Agressive player.
But here's a question..:

I always used to slowplay hands like Top pair-top kicker, top-two-pair, and trips.
Now I just fire away at the flop at about 1/2 - Potsize. I don't get a lot of action this way, But I'm not giving dangerous freecards either.

What are your thoughts on this?

It all depends on the texture of the flop in my opinion. for top pair lets say you have AJ and the flop shows J 5 2. I would always bet this because you run the risk of letting a free card come out which could be a Q or K. For top 2 pair it depends on the texture of the flop. say you have J5 and the flop comes J 5 2 if there are no flush draws it would be safe to slow play, however if there is a flush draw or a flop like J 5 4 where there could be a straight draw bet out giving them the incorrect odds. This is pretty much the same situation for trips. Slow playing trips can be beneficial if the board pairs on the turn. Prime situation would be betting out giving the opponent incorrect odds the chase a flush they call and the board gives them their flush but pairs the board giving you a boat.

So really the answer to the question is look at the texture of the flop. The general I use is if the risk of a free card making a better hand than mine is high i bet if it is low i might slow play. Hope this helps.
