Lightbulb Beginners Debate .Who won the hand? Help!!

Four of us were playing cards, two had folded and two were in and all betting had finished. We turned over our cards and one said he had two pairs and the other a flush. So naturally the guy with the flush started to take the chips until one of the players who was out noticed it was a full house he had instead of two pairs. Who should win the that hand? The person who correctly stated the had a flush from the start or the person who called two pairs and then was told he actually had a full house. Hope you can answer this.

It actually depends on what set of rules you use.

In alot of casino's then if you verbally declare your hand, then that is what you are declaring and that cannot change even if your hand turns out to be better than you have declared. So in this situation the flush would still win the hand under the rules.

I'm a believer in fair play, and I think that the best hand should win, so I would say that the full house would win the hand.

But like I said it depends on the rules you are playing under.

FH no questions asked / guy called all the way doesn't matter if he knew he had FH or not ( and its obsurd that ythis guy didn't noticed either the board had trips on it or a pair lets say 5 5 , and he had a 5 with another pair.

well normally i would say that it is house rules and that if you declare that either cards talk or what you say is what you got. i personally have the rule in my house that cards talk. if the guy said two pair and turned his cards face up for everyone to see and someone said wait you have a boat then he would win. other wise i think it is like l said house rules. l have played at places where it is what you say you have. and if you can't figure it out yourself then you need to pay more attention next time. so l would start there with making some rules for that situation.

Default Who should win

Tamy said:When you are dealt a monster hand, try to identify who will play against you. At a typical table there is usually only one or two other players that are willing to play along with your monster hand once you’ve made it clear that you’ve got something big. If you manage to identify the playing styles of your opponents early, your chances of winning the table increase dramatically.
