Another thing that players should watch for at straight cash tables is the "pretending drunk". This is a player with a drink in front of him and he slurs his words and make like he hasn't got a clue of what he is doing. This is a form of bluffing and catching fish. He will look at his cards many many times and pretend he just doesn't remember what they were.
He will call your bet "just because" but then on the turn he may raise your bet just a little to make like he's trying to push you out of the pot but really he is hoping you will re-raise. Then on the river he could push the limit or an all in and you think well, now this guy doesn't even know what he has and I have pocket Aces so I know I got him. WRONG! He knows exactly what he has and what he is doing and what he wants is your money and he will take it and splash all his chips together to the point the dealer will speak up to him. He is ever soooo sorry and will try to get his act together. But watch his stack, it's usually quite large. He splashes his chips so you can get a proper read on it.
