I attempted to play a pot limit game tonight and everyone decided on blind betting. Since I was unsure of how it worked I went along with it. My hand was fair and not bad enough to fold at any time during the game. It wasn't like I could anyway.
I have had played with forced betting before and I managed through that. Has anyony played pot limit with either one of these betting types? Did you prefer one over the other? |

Hmmmmmmmm I have never played in a game like that. I have played in allin or fold but not forced betting. That's interesting. How did you finish? Were you at the final table or did it take you out long before that.
Not sure if I would enjoy that though if I was going through a "cold" card period.

I am terrible at pot limit and neither are my favorites. I played a decent hand but no I didn't win. I got taken out long before the final game. I'm still learning and that was almost over my head. I hope I explain this right. LOL
In blind betting you don't have the option of folding. You play it to the end. There is a designated position which, when the game start, has to place a bet. The following person is required to raise and so on. The bets and raises are predetermined amounts. The amounts are usually small. However there are different ways on how this is done. Forced betting is where you can't check. You only have two options, bet or fold. Pot limit games can become high staked easily and these type of betting types help to moderate it. A game that starts out with small bets will fair better than one that requires larger ones. |
