Default 7 Card stud players?

I have only recently started playing this game and have found that is a little harder than I thought it would be. I tried my hand at a low stake game and didn't have much luck. I only made it to showdown once in 4 games. Is there anyone out there who plays this game? Any tips for a beginner?

I love playing 7-stud but there aren't a lot of online sites that have that capability. The things to watch are all in the other players hands. You get to see some of their cards and you have to look at what they are showing and what they are betting. If they have 2 aces showing and you can't beat that then you have to decide if it's worth drawing to your straight. If they have 4 clubs then you have to be wary of the flush. But you see more of their hand than in any other game. You can evaluate what they have against what you have one on one, because there are no community cards. Also can make it a little harder at first because each player is looking at something different where in holdem if there are 3 clubs on the board you are just wondering who has 2 in the hole and are they bigger than yours.

Wow you guys have guts. But I like any stud game because it has no river and turning and dizziness from bellyaching and no dadad da dum moments. None of that slant ansd tilt pivot of the game. It's just poker.
Dam* straight.

I like stud for playing in person but rivers and flops online. Stud games online are hard to find. Most people won't bet their money without more entertainment.

I think it's a lot tougher to play online. You're looking at som many more cards on the table trying to calculate what your chances are and you are under the clock all the time. So in person it has to be easier since you'd have the time to think it all out. I know when I started I was just looking for the obvious things that could beat me - and so of course I missed a lot of the things that are not so obvious but still beat me. Like any oither game it just takes time to learn. I'd have to say though that I think if you get good online you'll be really good in person.
