Default Live vs. Online

Which do you like better and why? I prefer online for the simple reason that I hate sitting in those uncomfortable chairs. At home I can put the puter on my lap and be comfy on my couch in front of the tube.

Plus I think that online play improves your chances of winning live because online youlearn to read the players bets so you can't be fooled as easily by the in-person tells that players will fake to make you think theyhave something different. Gives you sharper skills

I don't play online as much as I used to. Although it is still kind of fun my friends have started a league and we get together once a week now. I still practice online or with a pc game I have.

They each have their pluses and minuses. Playing live can be a lot of fun. Especially when you're with friends and a lot of liquor. Online can tend to feel so impersonal. But online has no hour limitations.

I play live games occassionally but most of my playing is done online. I am a night owl so I usually end up playing late at night or early in the morning.

Truthfully I would much rather play at a B&M rather than online. But since they are all about 1-1/2 hours drive away I end up playing more online than live.

The reason I like live better is that if you frequent the same casino you end up seeing the same dealers (and know what kind of dealers they are) and you usually end up with familiar players at your table so there is some chatter but more importantly you get to know their style of play much better which is definitely to your advantage.

So realistically I feel that you have a better feel of the players and the game at a live B&M than you do online and have a much better chance of taking home the winnings rather than leaving your bankroll there.

I prefer live games. I don't play to make a living or anything so I usually just do it for fun. My friends get together to joke around and play a couple of hands.

Prior to the ban I was a big online player. Now I had to stop and am working on getting some home games going. I like playing live but I liked relaxing at home too. LOL

Yeah, the ban has really cut into the playing trime. I actually like to play online more than in person simply becasue my couch is so much more comfortable than casino chairs. But there are not as many good sites for US players to play at anymore and since I play primarily private tourneys it has really hurt. Many of my favorite forums only have games at sites that I can't get into anymore and I lost money on a few sites when they either shut down or lost their funding mechanisms and just folded without warning.

The other thing about online and being a forum member is that I have met so many great people from all over the world and have made quite a few new friends. I wouldn't get that at a B&M becasue many players just don't talk to each other that much unless you see each other a lot - and that requires being there a lot which I just can't do for health reasons.
